Winter has come to East Tenneesee and while it's still considered fall (a minor technicality, really as the Winter Solstice is only a few days away) the temperatures agree with me. At 30 degrees on our favorite mountain, it is winter my friend. The cold is nipping at our noses and we have broken out the scarves, mittens, and winter coats! Imagine the thrill and delight we had when our … [Read more...] about Winter Hike with Friends

Our Edible Plant Hike
On Friday I took our son, Gabriel, on a hike with a group of other homeschoolers. This hike was led by a Ranger and was going to cover the native edible plants in our area. We arrived at the Chattanooga River Environmental Education Center a bit early so we meandered around the pond until the others arrived. We had to watch our step because the ground was covered in duck poop, but the … [Read more...] about Our Edible Plant Hike

My budding photographer was excited to capture ducks in his photographs. Jade was just as excited and yelled, "Ducks! Momma, … [Read more...] about Father’s Day
Our Day at the Park
We went to a new park this weekend called Holcomb Bridge Park. I have a sneaking suspicion it is named that because it is located off of Holcomb Bridge Road....maybe. It has a cute little playground with a darling trail that takes you to the river. The kids enjoyed themselves immensely! I did as well! Being immersed in nature is always a wonderful experience. I especially loved seeing … [Read more...] about Our Day at the Park

Both of my children are social butterflies. Our Week in Pictures Gabriel read to our Mama … [Read more...] about Our Week in Pictures
