Hello everyone! As many of you know, two weeks ago my husband and I made the spontaneous decision to move our family away from the city and away from Georgia. We made what we felt was the best decision for our family and thus moved to my sisters farm in Tennessee! This is my first blog post since the move and well...it's been an adjustment. But, it's an adjustment that feels completely … [Read more...] about Our First Week on the Farm
The Calm Before the Move
I sit here in the early morning hours, alone, sipping my coffee. All of my favorite mugs are packed away. Wrapped carefully and put into boxes. As is the rest of our belongings. A whirlwind of happenings and I feel I am only just now catching my breath. Stepping out on faith we are relocating. With only a few days notice my husband and I are moving our family to Tennessee. So many … [Read more...] about The Calm Before the Move
Our Book of the Week: RED
I wanted to share a book with you. A book that the children keep asking for this week. They ask for it as soon as they wake in the mornings. They ask for it at breakfast. They ask for it at lunch. They ask for it before bed. This picture book by Michael Hall is simply called Red: A Crayon's Story. Our three year old actually discovered this gem of a book at the library. I wasn't sure … [Read more...] about Our Book of the Week: RED

Our Day at Zoo Atlanta
Last week my sister and brother in law came down from their farm in Tennessee to visit us here in Georgia. We decided to spend our day at Zoo Atlanta. We purchased a family membership so that we will be able to go to Zoo Atlanta as often as we want for an entire year! … [Read more...] about Our Day at Zoo Atlanta
An Afternoon at Garrard Landing Park
Earlier this week the hubby and I took the children to nearby Garrard Landing Park. This park has a sweet little playground and a nice gravel trail that takes you along the Chattahoochee River. It was a lovely and cool overcast day. Our daughter, Jade, wouldn't hear of wearing the matching outfit I had picked out for her. She has been dressing herself now for since she was 2 years old … [Read more...] about An Afternoon at Garrard Landing Park

Our Morning Walk Along the River
Today was a cold over cast day. The weatherman was calling for rain all afternoon and we haven't been getting our nature fix lately. I make sure we get outside but a nice walk in the woods has been few and far between since the new year began. Life just seems to happen, but now that we have a second vehicle, I plan on making making nature our norm again. I decided we needed to get out … [Read more...] about Our Morning Walk Along the River

Learning Math with our Favorite Games and Apps
Games can provide a rich source of education for our children. Here are our favorite games and apps for learning math. If you have followed us for any amount of time, then you know we don't use boxed curriculum's in the traditional sense in our homeschool. We follow our children's interests and use whatever works. Now, that doesn't mean our children are not learning. On the contrary, … [Read more...] about Learning Math with our Favorite Games and Apps
