Inspiring a Love of Reading with the Love of Animals
Inspiring a Love of Reading with the Love of Animals Before our son became the voracious reader that he is today, he was anxious and easily frustrated with each attempt to read. You can read about his favorite books here at our Favorite Read Aloud Books. We had a little boy with big ideas that could understand complexities far beyond his years. He knew the sounds that the … [Read more...] about Inspiring a Love of Reading with the Love of Animals
Our Week in Review: Including Gardening, Chickens, and Reading
Welcome to our week in review! We have been living on my sisters farm now for over a month and I think we are finally starting to find our rhythm! Farm life has so much to offer our children as they connect with nature and the animals all around them. Back in March (about two weeks before we moved to the farm) Uncle Joe hatched 24 Bantam Ameraucana chicks. Celebrating Earth Day in the Rain
April 22nd is celebrated around the world as Earth Day. Many people plant trees, help clean up trash or even recycle. We found our Earth Day to be a soggy wet day....but, that is part of living on this Earth...the weather! So, we donned our rain boots, raincoats and umbrellas and headed out into the rain to a nearby creek. What better way to appreciate the Earth than being out in it? … [Read more...] about Celebrating Earth Day in the Rain
Our Week in Review: Including Farm Life, The Old Oak Festival & Our New Library
Welcome to our Week in Review! This is our second week in our new home....my sisters farm in Tennessee. I believe we are all adapting well. Tennessee is lovely but the culture of the country is a bit different from that of the hustle and bustle of Atlanta. One of the biggest shocks for me was when we visited the small town library. Our Book of the Week: RED

They ask for it before bed. This picture book by Michael Hall is simply called Red: A Crayon's Story. Our three year old actually discovered this gem of a book at the library. I wasn't sure … [Read more...] about Our Book of the Week: RED

We purchased a family membership so that we will be able to go to Zoo Atlanta as often as we want for an entire year! … [Read more...] about Our Day at Zoo Atlanta
An Afternoon at Garrard Landing Park
Earlier this week the hubby and I took the children to nearby Garrard Landing Park. This park has a sweet little playground and a nice gravel trail that takes you along the Chattahoochee River. It was a lovely and cool overcast day. Our daughter, Jade, wouldn't hear of wearing the matching outfit I had picked out for her. She has been dressing herself now for since she was 2 years old … [Read more...] about An Afternoon at Garrard Landing Park
