A Rainy Day at the Park

We wanted to go to the park today. Never mind that it was 48 degrees and raining off and on. We just layered up our clothing, put on our raincoats, grabbed the umbrella and headed out the door. We even managed to convince Papa to come out into the rain with us!

The first thing we noticed when we got to the park was the abundance of parking spaces. We had the place to ourselves! The second thing we noticed…everything was wet, go figure. But it didn’t stop us from having a fantastic outing. We played on the playground, we jumped in puddles, we played at the pond and we walked the trails. After we were fully exhausted, we headed home for warm baths, lunch and then topped it all off with naps. It’s been a good day!

What a fun day! I’m so happy you braved the weather and went against the grain. Those family pictures are adorable! I might have to follow your lead on this one! I’ve sent them out in the yard on rainy days and allowed them to play in puddles but I haven’t ventured out to the playground in the rain. Novel idea.

Thanks for stopping by my Facebook page, Erin. I love how you share. Simple and beautiful. Great pics. By the time I finished reading, I felt more relaxed. ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s funny that I thought we were the only ones that relished inclement outside play days where we can have things to ourselves. Love it!

Ahhh it looks like you still put on a brave face and had a grand time together rain and all. We tend to hide indoors when it rains and now that MM isn’t a baby anymore I really need to brave the rain more. Lovely park visit. Kids still know how to make a good go of it don’t they? troopers! You are right, puddles are the best. I may or may not have jumped into more than the children ๐Ÿ˜‰
