Borax Snowflake Crystal making is a fun STEAM activity for children of all ages. Remember STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math! These snowflake crystals are also great if you live in a warmer climate that doesn’t see much real snow or if you just want to make some fun decorations!
Our son has had the best time being creative this week! I mean, this has been top notch fun. We are talking Lego’s and K’nex kind of excitement and creativity over here! If you’ve been here before then you know how much we love building and inspiring our creativity.
Jade had the best fun with a slime making kit that she got for her birthday. Even Gabriel joined in the science fun!
This week the children and I decided to make nature fairies as a welcome to the coming of fall. We saw a post about making them at Twig and Toadstool and the kids loved the idea. With the first cool nights and the leaves changing colors, this is a great time for collecting nature items. First we went on a nature hike and found pine cones, acorns, rocks, sticks and leaves. Next we brought our hoard home and dumped it onto a blanket in the living room floor. The kids then proceeded to sort the treasures into piles.
This week my son received a new subscription box that he has wanted to try out. The Green Kid Crafts Box is a Science/Stem/Craft subscription for children ages 6-10 years old. It was a hit in our home!
We began our week with the building of the K’nex Robo Sting…I say we, but Gabriel did 95% of the work. This is his first K’nex. He wanted to try one out to see if it was something he would enjoy. He began working on this Robo Sting over the weekend, but couldn’t finish it until we picked up batteries on Monday. It Was A BIG Hit! Check out his video, below, of it walking!
