We decided to go to the Atlanta Zoo Sunday morning. It was a lovely day, slightly overcast and in the mid 70's. It was perfect! We began our tour of the zoo with the pink flamingos. Gabriel told us all about the flamingos food and that it was the food that gave them their pink coloring. We then came to the Elephant enclosure. She was giving herself a dust bath … [Read more...] about Our Day at the Atlanta Zoo

Our Week in Pictures
Our week began with tree climbing, swings, discovering a patch of wild strawberries, and digging in the dirt! We had lots of play time with friends, including freeze tag, red light green light, and hide-and-go seek! Gabriel even taught one of his friends how to use his sling shot. Lions & Tigers & Bears, Oh My!
On Saturday, we decided to visit an animal sanctuary called Noah's Ark. We felt this would make a great family outing as well as an educational experience for us all. It is located just south of Atlanta, Georgia. I adore the mission behind this non profit sanctuary. A Day in the Life of an Unschooled Scientist
Gabriel and I both woke up at 8am. He went into his "LEGO Room" to build while I made breakfast. Around 9:30am my toddler, Jade, was up and ready to get the day going. When I asked them what we should do first they immediately yelled "Go Outside!" Okey Dokey, outside it will be. We headed for our favorite trail that circles around our apartment complex. It is awesome, because you feel … [Read more...] about A Day in the Life of an Unschooled Scientist
Our Week in Pictures
This week was one of the most beautiful since spring began. It was fairly warm and the sun was shining here in Georgia. So, we spent most of our time outdoors hiking and climbing trees! The kids used their binoculars or "Onoculist" as my daughter Jade calls them, to look for birds and squirrels. We followed deer tracks and found sweet little flowers on the forest floor. Our Week in … [Read more...] about Our Week in Pictures

What Homeschool Looks Like
The Science Festival in Atlanta, GA. is a very exciting experience for a science loving kid. It is a first for Gabriel as is the train ride to Centennial Olympic Park where all of the booths are set up! Gabriel had me put war paint on him before getting dressed....because that's what you do as a 7 year old boy about to go on an adventure! He may or may not have an obsession with J. R. R. … [Read more...] about What Homeschool Looks Like
