Welcome to another "Week in Review" here at Nourishing My Scholar. We've had a bit of a challenging week here. Our three year old's night terrors have been leaving us adults exhausted. Our son, too, has been overly excitable and out of sync. We've found that this happens more when our schedules change, but sometimes we can not pin point exactly why these types of weeks happen. So we are … [Read more...] about Our Week in Review

Homeschooling Without A School Room
The Dream We've all seen the Facebook and Blog posts of the gorgeous homeschool rooms complete with handmade furniture and lovely wall hangings that are sure to inspire learning and creativity in our little ones. I admit that each year I look forward to drooling over these picturesque rooms and I imagine how much easier homeschooling must be when you have a room dedicated to knowledge and … [Read more...] about Homeschooling Without A School Room
Zoo Day!
We had a zoo day this week! We took the children to a local private zoo in Limestone, Tennessee called Brights Zoo. We have been to this zoo several times in years past and have always enjoyed it. You can read about our very first time going to Brights Zoo here. It was quite a memorable experience. This visit, too, was memorable because it was our daughters first experience at Brights … [Read more...] about Zoo Day!
Our Week in Review: Including Leonardo da Vinci, & the Zoo
Welcome to another Week in Review here at Nourishing My Scholar! We had such a fun week with it's ups and down. The down would be that I got stung by a hornet and ended up at Urgent Care for a Steroid Shot...not fun. I also haven't quite decided when our first "back to school" day will be. Granted, we school year round but I still like to have that special first day. I've begun ordering … [Read more...] about Our Week in Review: Including Leonardo da Vinci, & the Zoo

August is upon us and for many of us, it brings with it the planning of another homeschool year. Curriculum's and school supplies bombard our senses as we walk through stores and browse online. Our homeschool doesn't run off of a … [Read more...] about Eclectic Homeschooling Curriculum: Pre-K and 4th Grade

Our Week in Review: Including Butterflies & Sharks
Welcome to Our Week in Review! This review is actually two weeks combined. We've been so busy the last two weeks (gardening, preserving food, farm animals, homeschool, reviews, ect.) that I am only now getting this post up. It's funny how farm life has that feast or famine feel to it. You're either sitting around twittling your thumbs...which I never do, because there is always something … [Read more...] about Our Week in Review: Including Butterflies & Sharks

Are We Still Unschooling?
This past homeschool year has been fraught with ups and downs for our family. We have had other homeschoolers join us daily for adventures. We have taken college courses. We have had fun with experiments. We have read some wonderful books. We have struggled with asychronisity. We have dealt with sickness and loss of family and friends. We moved from our community to a farm, and we have … [Read more...] about Are We Still Unschooling?
