We began our week with the building of the K'nex Robo Sting...I say we, but Gabriel did 95% of the work. This is his first K'nex. He wanted to try one out to see if it was something he would enjoy. He began working on this Robo Sting over the weekend, but couldn't finish it until … [Read more...] about A Week in the Life of Unschoolers

Our Day at the Tellus Science Museum
This weekend we went to the Tellus Science Museum in Cartersville, Georgia. This is my son, Gabriel's, favorite museum of all time. Just their gift shop alone has him speechless. He is a huge fan of both their Fossil Gallery and their Mineral Gallery. I'm always impressed with it myself! I apologize now for the bombardment of pictures you are about to experience. We started our visit … [Read more...] about Our Day at the Tellus Science Museum
A Week in the Life of an Unschooling Family
Our week started out with rain. Lots and lots of rain, but that was OK. We are big fans of mud puddles! Although, I believe my daughter took jumping in mud puddles to a new level when she belly flopped into one! Gabriel received a new Lego so he spent a whole morning working on it. After that he wanted to climb trees! Of course he climbs trees most days. … [Read more...] about A Week in the Life of an Unschooling Family
Our Day at the Atlanta Zoo
We decided to go to the Atlanta Zoo Sunday morning. It was a lovely day, slightly overcast and in the mid 70's. It was perfect! We began our tour of the zoo with the pink flamingos. Gabriel told us all about the flamingos food and that it was the food that gave them their pink coloring. We then came to the Elephant enclosure. She was giving herself a dust bath … [Read more...] about Our Day at the Atlanta Zoo

Our Week in Pictures
Our week began with tree climbing, swings, discovering a patch of wild strawberries, and digging in the dirt! We had lots of play time with friends, including freeze tag, red light green light, and hide-and-go seek! Gabriel even taught one of his friends how to use his sling shot. Both of my children are social butterflies. Our Week in Pictures Gabriel read to our Mama … [Read more...] about Our Week in Pictures
My Mother’s Day Weekend in the Desert
I went to Arizona for Mother's Day weekend this year with my Mom. We went to see my sister and my nieces who live in Phoenix and watch my sister graduate from college. No Husband! No Kids! Wait. What?! That's right, it was my first time being away from all of them. Honestly, I wasn't sure I would know how to act. I mean, it's been two years since Jade was born and I have never been away … [Read more...] about My Mother’s Day Weekend in the Desert
Lions & Tigers & Bears, Oh My!
On Saturday, we decided to visit an animal sanctuary called Noah's Ark. We felt this would make a great family outing as well as an educational experience for us all. It is located just south of Atlanta, Georgia. I adore the mission behind this non profit sanctuary. They are dedicated to providing homes to injured, abused and orphaned animals, they provide a place of love for animals … [Read more...] about Lions & Tigers & Bears, Oh My!
Nourishing My Scholars First Blog Award Nomination
Holy Cow! Nourishing My Scholar has been nominated for it's first award?! This is amazingly awesome for several reasons. First, Nourishing My Scholar has been nominated by Unschooling Momma and Poppy. This is a blog that I have followed since homeschooling but before we deciding to unschool. I have looked to them for inspiration countless times over the past year. Thank you so much for … [Read more...] about Nourishing My Scholars First Blog Award Nomination
What If I Acted Like My Toddler
Our toddler, Jade, is the most precious little girl I have ever known. I know I'm biased, but I did give birth to her, so.....yeah. Anyway, as precious as this precocious little girl is I have begun to notice certain traits of hers that confound me. I mean, I don't remember my son behaving this way. Ever. Of course it's been five years since he was a toddler, so it is possible that I … [Read more...] about What If I Acted Like My Toddler
