In years past our kids haven’t really bothered much with Advents or the countdowns to Christmas. I’ve tried several but they never gathered much steam as the month of December counted down. This year, however, is totally different. Since Halloween night there has been a ceaseless question. This question pops up several times per day. I’ve been scratching my head wondering why the change this year. Perhaps it’s because of the age of our children or perhaps it’s because of the Christmas Lists they have. Either way, the question I have been hearing everyday is, “How many more days till Christmas?”

One of our favorite things about Autumn are the leaves! For our children and myself, leaves are a source of endless fun. The more the merrier. The bigger the pile, the bigger the fun. Jade had the best fun with a slime making kit that she got for her birthday. Even Gabriel joined in the science fun!
This week our daughter, Jade, turned 3 years old. If you happen to know where all that time went, please let me know, because I haven’t a clue. So, other than sleeping, what can you do with your kids when you or they are sick? Quite a bit actually. Our biggest saving grace was, by and far, books!
I never thought someone would come to me and ask, “How do you homeschool? How do you make it all work.” But that is exactly what has happened. Several moms new to homeschooling have asked, “How do I get started?” I’m no expert. I am however, an expert on my own children. We’ve only been doing this homeschool gig since our children were preschool age. So in that time frame, I’ve learned a few things.
